Oh Spring!

So it is March 26th and finals are less than a month away. First of all, fuck!

Secondly, and more importantly, springtime means application season. "Applications?," you ask. "But you've already gotten into law school and did the hard part." HA! I freaking wish!

Applications and elections are out now for:
- SBA elections (which I am finding myself in a very contested election at the moment);
-Write on for journals begin in a month;
-Trial Ad is accepting applications;
-Inn of Court is now accepting applications;

It doesn't seem like a lot, but it is. Oh, and by the way. Outlines anyone? Yeah, because mine are not in great shape.

Chronicles of an Over Caffinated Law Student

Today I thought "I am going to be caffeine free." That lasted all of 7 hours, until my classmate poked her head over the study correl and said "I am going to the cafe, want anything?"

"Yes, coffee, black. Thanks!"

Spring Break- The Recap

During my spring break I've
  • Gotten all of my outlines started (although one is very very basic);
  • Started my moot court outline;
  • Went on a lunch interview;
  • Got my reading done for tomorrow;
  • Went to internship;
  • Collected donations for a charity auction;
  • Caught up with some friends.

All and all, a good spring break. I think I need a break from break, but many other people have that sentiment. I think now I am just trying to do enough work to not feel like I am sinking.

I know why I am feeling like I am just slammed with work- job searching for the rest of my life, working, competitions, an extra class, more reading. Not like I am going to sit and pout, wondering why is law school so hard. It is a very hard thing. It sucks, but that is life (in law school). This is going to sound sick, but I sort of enjoy being in this masochistic situation.

The Holy Grail

For every question presented there is a holy grail case out there, or so we hope. This case answers the question so perfectly that you'd be a fool not to use it.

It is impossible to find though. I believe it involved the Tomb Sir Richard, tricking the Nazis, a room full of bejeweled cups, and several other Indiana Jones references.

You will know when you've found this case though. It is so beautiful that it will bring tears to your eyes.

Spring Break Day Two

Today I:
-Spent way too much time researching something (that needed to be done);
-Started a contracts outline;
-Drank way too much green tea because I thought I was over caffinated with coffee (yeah, because tea is decaffinated); and
-I proably ate something somewhere in there.

Tips for a Career Fair

"Tips" implies several, but I've got two. These are what worked for me.

  1. Know what the hell you are talking about. Research the organizations and some relevant peices of currect events that the firm/ organization/ agency is working on or would be affected by. Basically, be able to talk a little bit of shop in your table talk.
  2. For the job you want, be the first person at the table and be freaking memorable. You've got one shot at this. Get there early as employers are setting up. When the target looks settled, get over there ASAP. The first person is memorable. The last person may be, if the person at the table isn't tierd of talking to 50 billion strangers by the end of the day.

Spring Break Day One

Woke up later than expected, and in this weird fetal position with my face straight down and butt in the air. Felt great!

Spent a rediculous amount of time outlining for Civ Pro. I am now almost done with Chapter 3. In all fairness though, Chapter 3 is about 200 pages.

Got placed for clinic. Yay!
